After 3 months in this facility I want to compliment them on their smooth operation and their extraordinary staff. And Ana Benitez (the administrator in charge of social services) in particular, for her kindness and professionalism. I’m about to be discharged in a couple of days, and I’m looking forward to visiting occasionally to see all the staff people who have helped me. I’ll miss them and their warm smiles…

First of all, I have to start with Ana, the Social Services Director. Ana helped me through a very difficult time with my mother and is still helping me. She went above and beyond to support my mom and our family. Her kindness and empathy and general dedication to her position is admirable. Ana has been a saint for us. As to the facility, these places are always a tad difficult for one to visit, but Marin Post Acute tries very hard to change that. The facility is super clean and the rooms are very nice. The staff is attentive and always kind. The visiting doctors, especially Dr. Brindley are amazing. The nurses, CNAs and front desk people, all so helpful and kind. Stephan the entertainment or event coordinator is so cheerful, he knew all the long term patients names. My mom was in another facility a few years ago for a brief stay and it didn’t come close to this place. I am very grateful to Marin Post Acute and I hope they continue to keep striving to be the best, because the effort really shows right now. Thank you to all the staff, too many to name, for all the care you have given and continue to give my mom. Things to improve would be the phone system, it can be very difficult to get through. Also some of the phones in the rooms don’t work. That said, I have noticed an improvement in last few days so maybe that is already being worked on. Keep it up MPA, you are really doing a good job!

This is my 4th stay at MPA. Like any place this big and complicated, there are good things and not so good. Most of the nurses are excellent. Of special note: jenna, angelica,Tonka. The quality of care provided by CNAs ranges from 0-10. Of special good note : Ross, Kaylee,Breuny,Carlos. Social Services Director Ana is amazing! I don’t know how she does it, she deserves a bundle of gold stars! Cleanliness of facility is A+ Food mostly D- Big improvement would be if CNAs could be encouraged to think of patients as “friends” not an unpleasant task to be endured. That’s All I have energy to type

Top notch physical & rehab services. Comfortable rooms. Janitors, nurses, CNAs, social worker & front desk…all top notch making stay bearable! I found the meals generally inedible, surviving mostly on peanut butter and jelly w/milk.

I have spent the past two months visiting my friend Chuck at Marin Post Acute Care and through my many visits I was consistently impressed with the care and cleanliness … and friendliness. This part of healthcare is a very tough job and I am struck at how well the staff does it. Patients can often be difficult and yet I never heard a bit of frustration, only patience and kindness from the nurses, CNAs and helpers to the lovely ladies who greet you at the front door. Of the few (quite a few) facilities like this I’ve been in, this is far and away the best, I have quite an overly sensitive sense of smell and a bit of an aversion to hospitals – and Marin Post Acute Care is spotless and staffed with nice, competent people. I appreciate them all for all the care they gave my friend.

I was really impressed by the staff. They were really friendly and responsive. Facilty seems like it is constantly being cleaned because I always saw house keeping in and out of the rooms and hallways.

Stay far away as possible from this horrible, nasty place. The Kaiser Case Managers, Roxanne and Jenn, should not be Case Managers. Especially Roxanne. She is rude doesnt listen to what family members have to say, and hangs up on you. She is also a liar. I had a family member in here, after falling and breaking a limb.

This place is horrible. If you ring the bell for assistance I had to wait 1 1/2 hours for tea. Older adults screaming all day and night. Men walking around in diapers. Some of the staff is awesome others rude and acting like they are doing you a favor. One of the nurses said I was so polite and quiet, I was very respectful because I know people needed more help than me. I had a shared bathroom that smelled all the time. A man on the 3rd floor was yelling at an elderly man and told the elderly man he was going to through him out the window if he did not stand up. My husband saw it and was disgusted and he went to the from desk to complain NOTHING HAPPENED. I was there for PT and the team was wonderful! That’s why I stayed but left after 1 week I would not recommend this place ever. It’s horrible. The lobby smells nice and clean go to the back so bad!!!!

I have been here for over two years. I have to make my own bed and carry my own trays of food out of my room. There are a couple of good nurses, One good thing. The nurses are good forare they give me me my medications sometimes on time, and sometimes not. I do everything myself. I am only here because I am closer to my grandchildren in Novato and my son in Los Angeles. The food here is sometimes good and sometimes hungry bad. You do not get a choice of what you eat. Here only eat what they serve you or knock.

They say there is nothing like home. But when you need a place to heal, Marin Post Acute is the place to go. Good care and caring staff, good food, pretty courtyards and most of all your dog can come to visit!

Trying to reach a patient is like trying to fly to the moon. I don’t know what the problem is but it takes half a day to talk to the patient. The front desk tells you they will transfer and you wait wait wait wait and nothing. You call back and the same thing. Then they try to get the nurse to answer and the nurse is missing or doesn’t pick up the phone. For the last week, none of the siblings who are also in their 80’s and in assisted living are able to get hold of the patient. It is quite pathetic.

This place is horrifying. You walk in and the whole place smells of urospesis. Patients are mistreated and neglected by staff. The bottom floor looks nice which is deceiving. Once you go upstairs to the memory care unit its as if you took a time machine into the 80s. Theres constant yelling coming from patients rooms which the staff never check on. I don’t understand why this facility has not been investigated yet, let alone shut down. As a licensed nursing assistant I can’t say with 100% confidence that this stuff is not supposed to be happening. This place needs to be cited and shut down. I would never in a million years send a loved one here.

Marin Post Acute is a substandard skilled nursing facility. They should be shut down by the state for its multiple violations of healthcare. If you care about the health and well-being of your loved one, never EVER send them to this facility for care. You will be forever sorry.

My grandmother was transitioned here after fracturing her hip. The acute care portion of the facility was okay, but once she was moved to the rehab unit there was no care. We’re lucky she was provided food. She had no PT, was found in soiled diapers and bed several times. It saddens me that these facilities are not tracked and evaluated more frequently.

I spent several months at Marin Post Acute at the end of 2021. I formed many close relationships with their welcoming, kind, and caring staff. I believe the whole healthcare industry has been hit hard with staffing challenges during the pandemic, and although Marin Post Acute could use some more staffing support, the staff that they do have bend over backwards to care for their patients and pick up the slack. Their rehab team is amazing (Heidi, JJ, Jake, and many others) and they are all experts at their craft. Their community nurse representative, Judith Rooke, was extremely helpful in my transition into the facility and was able to answer many of my questions and help me understand what to expect throughout my time there. Nobody wants to be in a nursing home, but if you find yourself needing rehabilitation for yourself or a loved one, I would recommend Marin Post Acute to anyone.

Marin Post Acute is a great facility with even better employees. Their new remodel is above any other skilled nursing facility I have ever seen and their therapy gym is extremely impressive. If you are searching for a skilled nursing facility in the Marin area I would highly recommend this one.

My father is here. Although these places are never ideal, he knows that it is the best place for him. The people are down to earth and he enjoys the food. That is an important thing.

My dad had fallen down, went to the emergency room then was transferred to Marin Post Acute for physical therapy. They never got him up out of bed, they left him wearing soiled diapers. He had a bloody Band-Aid on his arm for 6 days! He is now in an assisted living facility unable to walk, unable to stand, now incontinent. He was not like this a week prior to going to Marine Post Acute. Hopefully now in the Assisted living facility he will get the physical therapy he needs and hope it’s not too late for him to regain some independence. The discharge planner, was awesome! She was the only one that provided us help and resources that we needed.

Kind, compassionate, efficient staff. Regular, effective sessions of Physical and Occupational Therapies offered 6 days/week by enthusiastic, inspiring therapists. Just a clean, well run, friendly, healing place to recover from injury or illness.

Horrible experience here. Was sent here for rehab post hospital stay for spine. Im not elderly and fully aware of my surroundings. I Spent 2 days there out of the planned 14 and then I asked my family to take me home. The ambulance brought me in and I was taken to a room with one completely demented woman verbally attacking to me and my hubby.and at night she was pulling curtains between us and shouting. Their placement of me next to her was inappropriate. In consideration to the type of patient I was in their care. The other roomie was their supposed success story for rehab that sold me on going there. The poor woman was barely moving after a year of their physical therapy !! I was dumped in a room upon arrival and the only formal inspection was the taking of inventory of my belongings. Not one physician or nurse ever evaluated me upon arrival or anytime during my stay. I had a spine issue and was given a bed with a mattress that had an indentation so big, I needed to fill it with a folded up blanket. Needless to say, there was zero awareness to what care my medical condition needed. One night I needed toilet paper and the night shift housekeeper told me there was none! Reason being they put all in diapers. She found me a roll and I had to guard it like gold. Housekeeping allowed to burst into rooms at 4am flipping on lights to solely empty garbage with no concern to the patients. There were many issues of incompetence and I asked to be released due to increasing fear they would do me more harm than good at that critical stage of care. When I informed them I was checking myself out, they told me if I did they would not give me my medications as a punitive move. I had to argue with a nurse and threaten to report her to the board in order to get my prednisone back from them.they also insisted I sign a release that said a doctor informed me of the risks, despite NO doctor ever saw me there..coming or going. Upon leaving , not one of the staff or nurses helped me safely get from my room, out of the building and into the car. It was the most unprofessional experience in care Ive ever had. i spent 30 years in patient care and this experience was horrifying.. Once I returned home, upon inspection of my meds, my home health nurse identified MPA had given me the wrong dosing of medication the entire time I was there. It was very upsetting to learn as the titrating of the prednisone was important for safety reasons. There were so many violations and management was completely absent from the scene. While I followed up with my insurance company, I regret I was physically unable to file a full grievance at the time. This place is clearly a rest home, not acute care…and definitely not a good place to be.

Wonderful, caring , communicative staff. My mother is happy and well cared for. I can always get through to someone when I have questions. The staff makes my mom feel like she is with family- they genuinely care for their patients and it shows!
